Doreen Smeltzer is a Clinical Educator for DENTSPLY
Professional covering the Central Region of the US.
She came to DENTSPLY in 2004 with several years of
clinical expertise and 10 years experience as a Dental
Hygiene Educator serving Pierce College in
Washington, Prairie State College and College of
DuPage in Illinois.

She graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of
Dental Medicine certified as a Dental Assistant and a
registered Dental Hygienist. She received her bachelor’
s degree from Edinboro University in Education and a
master’s degree from National Louis University in
adult education. She serves as an active Dental
Hygiene Consulting Examiner for the North East
Regional Board of Dental Examiners.

Her mission is to provide professional education to
dental teams and increase their awareness of new
and current dental applications for enhancement of
their business and patient care.

literature to give the clinician practical

instrumentation for nonsurgical periodontal
therapy. Ultrasonic instrumentation techniques
will be covered extensively utilizing the dental
hygiene process of care and hands-on
activities. This course also outlines
evidence-based strategies to guide the clinician
through instrumentation options while providing
exceptional patient care.
